How Intelligent Acre compares farm software

Who this is for
US farmers growing corn, soybeans and wheat who are choosing software to run the business side of the farm — books, grain marketing, field records, inputs, machine data, weather, staff and AI assistants.
What's included
A product qualifies if a US row-crop farmer can realistically use it today for running the farm, whether they pay for it, get it free with equipment, or get it free because their elevator or retailer pays. We group products into three sections — farm software you choose, tools your elevator or retailer gives you, and general tools farmers also use — so products that come free with something else aren't compared head-to-head with paid ones. Discontinued or absorbed products stay listed with their status, because farmers still search for them.
Where the facts come from
Every attribute on this site traces to a public source: the vendor's own website, pricing and privacy pages, press releases, regulatory filings, or named agricultural trade press. Each product page lists its sources with the date we accessed them. We do not use vendor briefings, demos, private data, customer interviews or review-site ratings as sources. If we couldn't find a public source, the cell says not published or unverified — we never guess.
How we read a capability
● Yes means the vendor publicly describes the capability as part of the product. ◐ Partial means it exists in a limited or indirect form, and the product page says how. ○ No means the vendor's public materials don't offer it. ? means we could not confirm either way.
"AI assistant" is also split into three levels, because the word alone no longer tells a farmer anything: none; generic assistant, which answers questions but does not read your records; and acts on your records, which reads or writes your own fields, books or contracts. The level is assigned from the vendor's own public description, which is quoted on the product page.
Prices
We quote the vendor's published list price, with its unit, exactly as shown on the access date, and show promotional prices separately. Many vendors publish no price; we say so rather than estimate. Prices change often — check the vendor before deciding.
Data policies
The one-line summary is our paraphrase of the vendor's privacy policy or terms on the access date, with a link to the document and its stated date. Read the policy itself before relying on it. Whether you can export your data and leave has not yet been researched for most products; those cells are marked unverified and are scheduled for the next review.
Confidence
Each product carries a confidence level. Verified: every filled attribute traces to a primary source (vendor, filing or press release). Partially verified: core facts are primary-sourced but some attributes rely on secondary sources or are missing. Unverified: mostly secondary or stale sources. Today: 31 partially verified, 3 verified. Most products are partially verified mainly because vendors don't publish prices or farm-data terms.
Scores
We don't rank products or publish a score. The table lets you set your own weight, 0 to 5, on each capability; a fit percentage is then computed in your browser from the checklist marks and your weights. Nothing is scored until you move a slider, and the number reflects your priorities, not ours.
What we don't do
We don't make claims about return on investment, yield or savings for any product. We don't accept payment, advertising, affiliate commissions, sponsored listings or free subscriptions from any vendor listed. We don't test products hands-on; marks reflect what vendors publicly describe.
Corrections and updates
Vendors and farmers can request a correction by sending a public source. We update the row, note the change and date in the product's change log, and keep the previous value visible there. We re-check every row at least twice a year and date-stamp each product page with its last review.
